Tyva Kyzy (Daughters of Tuva) is a female folk ensemble performing Tuvan throat-singing. Exhibiting artist Mika Rottenberg travelled to the steppes of Siberia to record the singers for her film Spaghetti Blockchain. Until recently there were few female throat singers and Tyva Kyzy is the only women's group in Tuva that performs all styles of Tuvan throat-singing.

Throat singing imitates the sounds of the natural environment, including streams, mountains, animals and the howling winds of the Siberian steppes, and are used to communicate with nature’s spirits including local trees, springs and other aspects of the world. The singers use a form of circular breathing which enables them to sustain multiple notes for long periods of time. Tuvan throat-singing is one of the world’s oldest forms of music.
